Over the last several years, Nelson Engineering has invested heavily in state-of-the-art multi-axis machining centers to optimize products, reduce scrap and increase overall throughput. To produce this same level of productivity and maintain our commitment to continuous improvement at all levels of the organization, we have turned our attention to our quality department.
Nelson Engineering has acquired a fully automated CNC comparator to optimize the inspection of flat pattern sheet metal parts and machined components. Our Certified Comparator Products CC-16 can act as a traditional optical comparator but also has the ability to import digital models and inspect to them using precision edge detection. Its sophisticated Echeck software will significantly reduce first-article inspection time with reporting capabilities and increase our inspection capacity overall.
Our second acquisition is a new Coordinate Measuring Machine from Dynamatrix. The Insight 8106 CMM is configured with the powerful, yet easy to use CMM Manager software that allowed us to utilize the equipment immediately. This equipment will allow us to inspect more complex components with the highest level of repeatability, precision and speed.
